LOCAL EVENTS 2019

​StepEurope will participate in Yhdistystreffit 2019 (Organisations meet up 2019) on 27.11.2019 at 16 @Wimma. During the evening you will have a chance to hear what different organisations from Turku have to offer.

Come and learn more about the activities and trainings we provide​!

StepEurope organizes the official autumn meeting on Saturday 2nd of November @Sondip. The event starts at 12 and is open for everyone. We offer small snacks, coffee and tea. Welcome! 

 

StepEurope’s volunteers decided it would be good to get to know each other better and is planning a game night between 17-19 on 11.10. @Sondip. Anybody interested in StepEurope is welcome!

The event is free of charge. Coffee, tea and snacks are offered by StepEurope.

StepEurope participates the Book Fair this year. You can find us from Sondip’s table, where we are presenting our actions on Friday. Come to greet us and enjoy the whole Fair!

Gardening project is coming to an end and it’s time to harvest all the vegetables that grew in our garden!

Gardening project’s group is meeting at 17  on 27.8.2019 at Koroinen to pick the vegetables and cook a meal together! If you were a part of the Gardening project 2019 you’re warmly welcome regardless of how many times you came to previous activities.

End of the Season Party is an event for having fun, getting to know each other and enjoy the Finnish summer.

We will start the evening with snacks and a short interactive workshop, later we will enjoy food, drinks, sauna and some funny games! We are going to sleep over the night at the cottages in Vuolahti campsite (including breakfast), but you may also participate only in the evening activities. We offer for you a brilliant opportunity to spend good time in a international group of people while enjoying the Finnish summer and cottage culture. Join us with your friends, there is place for the first 30 people!

The participation fee is 15€ (includes accommodation, food, the activities and transportation from Kaarina city center). Please pay it right after signing up or latest 2nd July. NOTE! The Conversation club continues with three summer gatherings!

Club gathers to discuss variety of interesting topics in English. Each time there will be a different “leader” who will propose an argument and give inputs to the conversation through news, articles, pictures, videos, statements etc.The leader will prepare the argument and be ready to give “food for thoughts” to the participants to get the discussion going.
The participants are free to express their own position without imposing their points of view or hurting the others- this is very important!
The meeting doesn’t have any other intent except increasing our knowledge on the world, reflecting our positions, listening other points of view in a friendly and relaxing environment.

Organised by StepEurope volunteers in English. Free and open for everybody! Kirjakahvila has lovely drinks and cakes to enjoy if you like. The topics of each gathering is published in the FB event beforehand, stay tuned.

Focus is easy movements helping you to ease the tension, stress and observe your breathing. Please bring warm and stretching clothing. Duration is approximately 1 hr 30 min. There is coffee, tea and snacks provided and open discussion. Workshop is organised by StepEurope ry with volunteers. Workshop takes place in Turku Main Library conference room, upstairs from Cafe Sirius. The event is arranged by volunteers of StepEurope.

What have you influenced and what would you like to influence? StepEurope invites everyone to ponder about the theme of European Youthweek 2019: Democracy and me, and pimp their own t-shirt around the theme. At the event you can get information about how you can influence in Turku and especially in Europe through StepEurope, this day is also an European Day celebration!

Interested in gardening, sustainable development and teamwork? The Gardening project is starting 3rd year in a row with a orientation workshop in Logomo 27th April. The workshop is an introduction to the project, we will have the chance to learn about permaculture, plant our first herb seeds and get to know each other. The project continues all spring and summer in Koroinen. Sign up and join the fun!

You are invited for an creative exploration. Never Again- Project is an international collaboration with University of Turku. This workshop is part of it and offers a change to take part for free. Breaking the Silence-workshop explores what things we keep silent as individuals and as a society thru non-formal methods like painting, writing and creating digital stories. Materials such as short digital stories produced during the day will be presented as part of the Never Again International conference 28.5.2019.
-Workshop in English, basic language skills required.
-Smartphone required-for digital storytelling app.
-Children are welcome and they will have activities organized.

Week 12 is the National Campaign Week Against Racism, through the event we are participating in the campaign and aim to make an impact, raise discussions about how easy it is to make assumptions and to create an inclusive atmosphere. Time: 18. March 4-6 pm.

Last event of “How to Survive Trough the Finnish Winter” -project traditional Ice & Swimming and Sauna is tested. Join the group and explore together how great swimming in winter can actually be.One-time payment of the Sauna (includes locker room) is 5.50 euros
Bring your: swimsuits, sock and hat you can wear while swimming (recommended) and very warm clothes to wear after.
